We know it’s not always possible to come to our cellar door, so continuing our focus on offering memorable wine and food experiences around Australia at some of our superb partner restaurants, we are delighted to announce the latest experiences for you to enjoy across Spring (with more events to be announced over this period too).  As many of you know, our wine dinners are a great mix of sensational food at some of Australia’s best restaurants, with a generous matching of our wines. Wednesday, 11 September: Canapes + 4 course wine dinner at Ryne Restaurant with Chef Donovan Cooke in conjunction with Gault & Millau

On Wednesday, 11 September together with international restaurant review guide, Gault & Millau, we are partnering with Donovan Cooke to present a one-night only experience of canapes and 4 courses with matching wines.

Each course has been specially designed for this dinner and draws upon Donovan’s three-decade career spanning three continents. Donovan started his career at The Savoy Hotel before becoming Head Chef at the 3 Michelin The Waterside Inn in Bray (London), Restaurant Marco Pierre-White and Harveys before moving to Burgundy to run the world famous, La Côte St Jacques restaurant. In 1997 he moved to Melbourne where he co-opened Melbourne institutions and Melbourne’s first 3 hat restaurants Est Est Est, Luxe and Ondine. Subsequently he ran the Derby Restaurant at the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club before moving back to Melbourne and opening Ryne in North Fitzroy in 2017.

On Saturday 21 September we are excited to be partnering with Celebrity Chef Serge Dansereau and Fairmont Resort Executive Chef John Slaughter for 6 course degustation experience matched with our wines.

French Canadian Serge Dansereau has established himself on a local and international level within the food industry. Born in Montreal Québec, Serge moved to Australia in 1983 to run the legendary 3-hat Kable’s Restaurant at the Regent leading to him being named Good Food Guide’s Chef of the Year in 1990. Serge’s enigmatic and sophisticated style has led him to not only create flavours to entice any palate, but also the iconic Bathers’ Pavillion Restaurant, Café and Kiosk on Balmoral Beach in Sydney which he established in 1999 and across a number of award winning cook books including Food & Friends, French Kitchen and Seasonal Kitchen.

Saturday, 5 October: Le Cabaret Des Artistes – 4 course French Wine Dinner with Cabaret by acclaimed performer, Ben Noir and company in our 170-year Mares’ Stables at De Beaurepaire Wines

As part of our 21st anniversary celebrations, we are collaborating with Ben Noir, an acclaimed Australian cabaret performer, to present, Le Cabaret des Artistes – an indulgent evening of fine French cabaret, wine and cuisine.

Le Cabaret des Artistes will be held in the sprawling, 170-year-old stables at De Beaurepaire Wines, Rylstone on 5 October 2019 and tickets are on sale now.

Ben Palumbo caught an early break as a Featured Acrobat in Baz Luhmann’s Moulin Rouge. In his off-screen life, he subsequently moved to Paris, working his way from street performance to some of the most (in)famous cabaret and burlesque stages in the world. Recently returned from a world tour, including a performance at the Australian Embassy in Paris by invitation from the Australian Ambassador, an upcoming performance at the French festival in Brisbane, and previous appearance in Baz Luhmann’s ‘Moulin Rouge’, Ben Noir’s fabulous French cabaret is a truly memorable experience. Between his stunning flute like vocals, and his ability to sing Non Je Ne Regrette Rien while maintaining a perfect handstand, this is a cabaret like no other! Ben Palumbo, joined by Paolo Campanari Brancondi on Piano Accordion, Ann Palumbo on guitar, and Paul Laszlo on double bass, form a talented quartet that have a unique comic rapport onstage, and their theatre skills complement each other greatly creating a fabulously flamboyant show.

Friday, 11 October: 5 course wine dinner at The Como Hotel with Chef Michael Cook

The Como HotelOn Friday 11 October we are hosting a 5 course and matching wine dinner at the historic The Como Hotel in the Sutherland Shire.

The Como Hotel built in 1878 is one of the oldest buildings in the Shire, and has recently been refurbished with a magnificent dining room flowing on to a wide wrought-iron balcony overlooking the Georges River and a beautiful private dining room. Chef Michael Cook has prepared a beautiful, seasonal menu which together with our wines will make for a very enjoyable evening to finish off the working week.

Wednesday, 23 October: Six course wine dinner at Urbane Restaurant with Chef Andy Gunn in conjunction with Gault & Millau

On Wednesday 23 October we’re excited to be returning to Queensland’s number 1 restaurant and four-hatted Urbane for a five-course wine dinner prepared by Executive Chef Andy Gunn, Head Chef Amélie Rabaud and co-hosted with international restaurant guide Gault & Millau,.

After starting his career in Brisbane at Isis and then Becasse in Sydney, Andrew moved to Paris where he worked his way through some of the City of Light’s most illustrious establishments – Les Ambassadeurs at Hotel de Crillon, La Grand Cascade under Frederic Robert, two Michelin Le Taillevent with Alain Soliveres and finally with Christian Le Squer at Le Cinq. Le Cinq was awarded their third Michelin during Andrew’s tenure.

Andrew and his fiancée, Amélie joined the Urbane team in 2018 after being handpicked by previous Head Chef, Alejandro Cancino.

Urbane is arguably the most iconic restaurant in Brisbane’s CBD, now in its eighteenth year. Incredibly Urbane just keeps improving and is now ranked as the 14th best restaurant in Australia and overall best in Queensland by Gault & Millau with an incredible 4 hats. We’ve been delighted to be one of Urbane’s key wine partners for the past 2 years.

On Wednesday 6 November we are excited to be hosting a 5 course wine dinner at Restaurant Moon with Chef Aum Touchpong Chancaw.

Restaurant Moon has dynamo Jackie Park running front of house and the incredible Chef Aum in the kitchen.

Aum was previously Head Chef of Longrain and has spent 16 years working the kitchens of Europe, Asia and Australia including Restaurant du Palais Royal. He fuses European (in particular French) and Thai dishes through the marriage of molecular European gastronomy with traditional Thai cooking to create elegant and delicious food that is amongst Sydney’s most innovative. Restaurant Moon has already been awarded a chef hat from Good Food Guide and the Gault & Millau guide.

Restaurant Moon is one our personal favourite restaurants in Sydney and we couldn’t be happier that we are finally collaborating on this wine dinner.
